Baseball and Vacuuming

I think my children are mixed up. I have a little boy who loves to clean, especially vacuum, and a little girl who loves sports.
Jack is obsessed with the vacuum cleaner. Georgia got a pink vacuum cleaner from Santa when she was 2. She might have used it a handful of times. Well, since Jack came along, it has been used daily. It is so funny, when I vacuum, he goes and gets his vacuum and cleans with me.
Georgia is going to play T-ball this year. Michael got her some pink and black cleats and a matching pink and black glove that lights up when she catches a ball. Michael took them to the baseball field this weekend. She was so excited she got to wear her new cleats and glove.

Happy Valentine's Day...Early!!

I attempted to take a few snapshots of the kids for Valentine's Day cards I usually send to family. The lighting wasn't great and they really weren't in the mood for pictures. Here's the best I could do...

Looking back one year....

Here are a few pictures from last year. Isn't it something how much they change in one short year?

32 Week Prenatal Visit and Ultrasound

I had my 32 week check-up and ultrasound Monday. The ultrasound went well. Baby Daniel was very active and they guesstimate he weighs 5 1/2 lbs. We did find out that he is breech, which is not too much of a concern since he will be delivered by c-section. Dr. Desautels did say it upped my chances of my water breaking early since his little legs are face down. That kind of alarmed me because I have been feeling him kick really hard lately. We also set up the delivery date. It is tentatively planned for Monday, March 16th. We are just waiting for the hospital to confirm the time. Please keep praying for me that I make it to the delivery date. Premature baby boys are not typically known for being very strong. I thought I'd share the pictures from the ultrasound.
Profile view with his little hand up to his mouth.

View of his belly and the bottom of his face (mouth, nose and cheek). I think he looks like Jack....

Getting Ready for Baby Butler

We've got about 6 weeks until our new little boy is due...if I make it that long! Everyone (including the kid's pediatrician) does not think I'll make it. We'll see. For the baby's health, please pray I do.
I wanted to share two things I found on Etsy for Georgia Anne and Jack. I wanted to get them Big Sister/Brother shirts that were not the standard ones you always see. I found the cutest ones at Olive and Ollie!! You need to check out her things...she's got really cute birthday shirts too.
I also found a sweet Big Sis bracelet at Jewelry & Baby Bling by Dara that I plan to give Georgia at the hospital the day the baby is born. Dara is making one for Georgia like the one pictured, except she is going to put her name on it as well.
I'm still looking for a little something to give Jack at the hospital. If anyone has any suggestions, please pass them along. You know I always love things that are handmade...they are so much more special!!

And after much deliberation and pondering over names, I think we have finally settled on a name for Baby Butler....

Daniel Dawson Butler

We both wanted a name that was meaningful. Daniel is kind of a funny story. Michael's dad was suppose to be named Steven Daniel Butler. For some reason, on his birth certificate he was named Steve Butler. Not Steven, but Steve and the Daniel was totally omitted. So the Daniel is for the long lost name Steve never got. I also love the story of Daniel. Daniel stayed true to God and through his faithfulness God rewarded him. Isn't that every parents prayer? That their children will learn to know Jesus and accept Him as their personal Savior and that they will always remain faithful?

Dawson was my mother's maiden name. This name has a very special place in my heart because my mom's dad, James Hoyt Dawson, died when she was only 8 years old. His naval helicopter crashed in the Atlantic Ocean near Virginia. My heart has often ached for my Mamaw and Mom's loss. I can't even imagine. So, I am honored to have our baby named after the grandfather I never knew.

We're not sure what we will call the baby....Daniel or Dan. I guess we'll wait and see what fits him.

Funny Little Children

We are in the process of getting the house ready for the new baby. We started putting up the new baby bed Sunday. We didn't have the screws to put the bottom in, so there it sits. Yesterday morning, I walk in and find my two little ones inside the baby bed like little caged animals. Georgia tells me they are poor little kittens who have been locked up. After meowing at me for a minute or so, she says, "Well, aren't you going to feed us? Us kittens like fish."

After rolling around on the sofas, they had some major static electricity in their hair!!

The kids were in Georgia's bedroom this morning being very quiet. I went in to see what they were up to and this is what I found. Jack had put Georgia's chairs from her table in front of the TV side by side. There they sat watching Dragon Tales. I thought it was sweet.

Jack at 18 months

Jack is almost 18 months old now, and he is the funniest little boy! This age is hard for me, being 7 months pregnant. I am constantly running around after him and he is into EVERYTHING, including climbing! But, this age is also so much fun! His personality is coming out more and more everyday. He hasn't been a very big talker until now...now he can say almost anything you tell him! Boys are also very different from little girls, which I am finding out more and more each day. He is like his sister in one way...they both love being the center of attention and making people laugh.

Pie in the Face!!

Every football season, the staff at the radio station has a football picking contest. This year Michael and Trey had a bet going that the loser between the two of them would get a pie in the face at the end of the football season. Well, as you can guess, Michael didn't win and last Friday at the Shelia C's Sports Talk Show, Trey did the honors! Michael took it in stride...but it was oh so funny!!!

Pump It Up Party

Georgia Anne's Pump It Up Party was a big hit Saturday night! She had the best time and was so happy she had so many of her friends come. I think I can safely say all the kids probably slept very good Saturday night based on how hard they played! A lot of the adults had a good time too!! Thanks to everyone who came!

Our little girl is 5!!

I can hardly believe that our little Georgie is 5 years old today! I often ask myself what I did to deserve such a great little girl as my daughter. I always tell Georgia if I could have picked any little girl to be mine, I'd pick her again and again! We have watched her grow from a baby who depended on us for everything, to a mature, independent little girl. She is such a joy and blessing from God!! She is so kind-hearted and thoughtful and we are so VERY proud of her!

Happy Birthday, Georgie!!

Getting ready for the big party...

This year Georgia Anne wanted to have her birthday party at Pump It Up in Montgomery. The party allows for 25 children and she made her guest list herself. She also addressed every invitation! She was very proud and is really excited about her party Saturday! I'll post those pictures this weekend.

Birthday at school...

Michael, Jack and I surprised Georgie at school today for a little "birthday snack." Mrs. Robin had a little crown for Georgie to wear, the kids sang Happy Birthday. Mrs. Robin even went around the room and everyone shared why they loved Georgia Anne. It was sweet hearing what the kids had to say. She was so happy we came and we also discovered Jack may be a class clown. He acted very silly and made all the kids laugh!!
