Dance Lessons...Year Two

Georgie started her second year of dancing with Mrs. Brooke at Studio B Dance Center. She goes two days a week and is taking baton, tap and ballet. She was so excited to have her first cousin, Brooke, in her class this year, as well as her friend from church, Madeleine, and her best bud from last year's dance class, Harley. They look so cute in their little leotards and tights.

Baby Jack

These pictures were taken at Lake Martin this summer. My friend, Beth, gave Jack this cute swim suit and matching hat.

Summer Swim Lessons

This summer, Georgia took 4 weeks of swim lessons for the first time. This was a big deal for her since she really hates getting her head and face wet. Bath time for us has never been a pleasant experience because she would have a melt down when it was time to wash her hair. The first week was a little rough and she was real hesitant of doing what her instructors asked of her. Going underwater and jumping off the side of the pool were the two things that she really had a hard time with. Her swim instructors were so good and patient with her and by the end of the four weeks she was jumping off the diving board by herself. For the first time, bath time is fun, and she loves getting in the water. It was well worth sitting in the scorching July heat for an hour each day.

Jack's First Birthday

Better late than never, right? Jack's first birthday was over a month ago, but I am going to post some pictures from his cowboy birthday party anyway. We had a small family party on Saturday, July 19th at our house. He really had a good time and enjoyed being with all his family. I used this picture for his birthday invitations. We like to call him our lucky star....he was born on 7-17-07 at 11:11 am and weighed 7lbs. 14oz. Hopefully all the 7's and 11's will bring him good luck his entire life...LOL!

Happy 1st Birthday, Baby Jack!!

Notice, Georgia preparing to blow out his candle for him.And yes, she did blow out his candle!

It didn't take Jack long to figure out what this cake thing was!! What can I say, the boy loves to eat!!By the time he was done, all the red and blue icing had turned a lovely shade of very dark purple and all you could see were his little eyes and teeth! Too cute!!

Are you ready for some football?

As most of you know, WTLS has been broadcasting Tallassee Tigers Football for over 50 years. Well, it's that time of the year again. We kick off the season Friday, August 22 in Valley. I thought I'd share the radio station's advertisement for the football program. We always do a full page spread and I am really pleased with how this year's ad came out as well as the picture of Georgia and Jack. I don't know how we managed to get this picture of them. It was quite a challenge since neither one of them would be still for more than a few seconds. Our broadcasts begin at 6:00 every Friday night and you can listen to them live on our website www.1300wtls.com
GO TIGERS!!!

Well...I finally did it!!!

After many months of blog stalking, I finally decided to start our very own blog! I thought this would be a great way for family and friends who live outside the Tallassee area to keep up with the comings and goings of the Butler gang. When I had to come up with a URL address, I had a hard time coming up with something that wasn't already taken, since Butler is such a common last name. Well, after typing in every possible thing I could think of, I finally came up with something, with the help of Tori, that surely was available....radiobutlers...and as suspected, it was available. Imagine that? What better word to come before the name Butler than radio? The two go hand in hand and since Georgia calls the radio station, "Daddy's house" I thought it appropriate. Anyway, glad you are here and I hope you'll be back. I will finally have a forum for posting the many hundreds of pictures I take of my family....Mamaw will be so glad!!!
