Read Across America

Friday Tallassee Elementary School participated in Read Across America in honor of Dr. Seuss' birthday. Georgie and Jack got to wear the pajamas to school, and even though Daniel isn't in school, he wore his too! It was such a fun day!

To start the day off right, the kids got a laugh at Mr. Pressley, the principal, in the car pool line wearing his Auburn pajamas and Dr. Seuss hat. He is the best sport!

Jack's class got to pretend they were having a slumber party. The got to bring their blankets, pillows and stuffed animals.

Mrs. Creel pretended to be the Mommy at the slumber party. She told them good-night, tucked them all in their beds and turned off the lights when all of a sudden the song "YMCA" came on and they danced in the dark. After the song ended she turned the lights back on and told them "to go back to bed!" It was so cute seeing them have so much fun!!

Michael got to read The Foot Book to Jack's class.
Daniel found a hat to wear too....
and even saw the Cat in the Hat!

Nana came and read to Georgia Anne's class. She picked one of her favorite books, The Bunyans to read to them. She told them all about tall tales. They loved it and as soon as she finished reading, they were all scrambling to get to them computers to take the AR test on the book.
