Fall Mantle

I love decorating for fall, but this year is the first year I decided to bring the fall decorating inside as well and give our living room mantle a fall twist.  Now, I realize the only two fall items on the mantel are two white pumpkins!

I did add a few other white pumpkins on the coffee table and side table.

I also LOVE cotton and all the beautiful cotton fields here, so I added a little cotton to our side table as well.

Fall Porch

The front porch has been decorated for fall for a few weeks now, but I am just now getting around to taking the pictures and sharing them you with here on the blog.  I really had intentions of decorating the porch with more Halloween decorations, but got lazy and just stuck with fall type decorations that will get me through Thanksgiving.
You might remember the monogram pumpkin from last year.  I dusted the bad boy off and plopped him down on a flower pot with an orange berry wreath.  I was so excited to find the pillows for the bench on clearance at Home Depot for $4 each....woo-hoo!
I've got to brag on my smallest boy, Daniel a little now.  He went with me to the nursery to pick out the mums.  He found this little basket while we were at the outlet next to the nursery and wanted to buy it.  When we were looking for the mums he picked out this small yellow one and put it in the basket.  When we got home and were putting everything out he put his little basket on the table on the porch and then later put this little pumpkin from inside the house in it as well.  I thought it was so cute and I was quite impressed he put it all together.  I added the moss and burlap bow, but besides that it is his creation!
I strung Indian Corn from jute rope and added a little burlap.

Pretty easy here, add a few pumpkins and some more burlap and a cute little pug dog!  I'll share a little secret here.  The evergreen that is between the chairs actually died this past summer.  I didn't want to buy another one, so I busted out the dark green spray paint and painted it!

Although this isn't technically the front porch, I thought I'd share the flower bed in the front of the house.

Alabama National Fair

Last Wednesday we made our annual pilgrimage to The Alabama National Fair in Montgomery, and like always we had so much fun!  The kids absolutely LIVE for this time of the year and going to the fair and I am so glad we are able to take them each year.

We were so excited that Banks was able to join in on the fun this year.  I am so glad Tori and Bryan live so close now and we are able to make great memories with these sweet babies!!
Georgie on the bumper cars
I swear these three are the cutest little boys ever!!
Toe Toe rode the giant Ferris Wheel with the kids!

All Aboard!!

Georgia Anne LOVES the swings!!  They were always one of my favorites when I was a kid.
Banks was just a few inches too short to ride the canoes, but the nice lady running the ride let him ride as long as Georgie held him.  She was glad to help out!

Banks was a little unsure about the "Frog Hopper," which went pretty high.  He would laugh a little, then cry a little.  Poor kid!
This was the first year they all were big enough to ride the kiddie roller coaster.
This was also the first year Georgia Anne was big enough (and we allowed her) to ride the adult rides.  This was her on the "Himalaya,"  which she loved.    I have to brag on Sissy a little....she was the best thing.  She wanted to ride the big rides (which we let her ride some), but she didn't complain once about having to ride the kiddie rides with the boys.  She is a great big sissy to them!
The kids always love all the livestock and farm exhibits.

Michael was all smiles because.....

...thank goodness we didn't have to visit here.
We'll see you again next year, Alabama National Fair!!!

It's a "Paw-tee"

Let me first start by saying that maybe those of you that have four legged babies will understand this post.  For those of you that don't, maybe you won't think we are totally nuts (although most of the time I think we actually are).

My sister's dog, Casey celebrated her 12th birthday Sunday and Tori threw her a "paw-tee" which we all attended.
The birthday girl!
Every birthday party needs cake....even if it is a dog's birthday party!
and a party banner...
...and party food!
P.J. even made the trip to the party!  Casey and P.J. are only 4 weeks apart in age, so I guess you could say Cousin P.J. is Casey's oldest friend.  He loves her...can't you tell by the way he looks up to her?  (O.K., so now you are probably thinking we are nuts...and I have to agree).
She knew all that party food was on the table.  She's pretty and smart!
The kids blew out her candles for her.

Proud grandaddy, Papa.
Banks was the first to dig in, using his toy screwdriver!
Jack is happiest when there are cake and balloons!

Casey got her very own piece of cake....P.J. cleaned up the crumbs!
